Project Description

Alicia Castillo, CNM

Alicia trained at the University of New Mexico where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2004 and later returned to complete her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), in the Nurse-Midwifery Concentration in 2008. Though she didn’t grow up here, Alicia has lived in New Mexico for most of her adult life, and is proud to identify herself as a New Mexican. Since graduation in 2008, she has worked continuously as a CNM, providing care to women of all ages and at all stages of life. She enjoys helping women find their own voice as they navigate through the modern healthcare system. It is Alicia’s goal to empower women and to honor their experiences and circumstances. She understands that behind every voice, there is a story to be told. Alicia has a special interest in providing care to adolescents and young women as they enter into the childbearing years, and enjoys spending time with young mothers, as they navigate the crossroads between their own childhood and the responsibilities that come with motherhood. She believes this is a crucial time when sensitive care and positive role-modeling can set the tone for a lifetime of positive experiences.
