Job Title:  Business Office Support  /  Surgery Scheduler        

Work Schedule : Monday through Friday

Primary Functions – Business Office Support:

  • Verify maternity benefits and prepare OB contracts
  • Maintain Return Mail
  • Maintain Provider Flow
  • Manage Incoming and Outgoing Mail for Riverside location
  • Attain adequate computer skills in the practice management system
  • Maintain alerts list and/or flags

Primary Functions – Surgery Scheduling:

  • Coordinate patient, OR and doctors’ schedules
  • Schedule and track all surgeries according to office procedure
  • Obtain benefits, prior authorizations and surgery contracts
  • Schedule Pre-op, Pre-anesthesia and Surgical Screening (PASS), and Post-op appointments
  • Utilize the surgery module to its fullest extent – assuring each surgery is entered into the physician schedule
  • Release all unscheduled OR block time
  • Assure appropriate communication with patients and physicians
  • Assure appropriate consent forms are obtained and signed
  • Assure surgery letters are sent out to patients

Job Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED required
  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical office preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Experience in charge entry, payment posting, account collections and/or surgery scheduling preferred
  • Strong customer service skills; good communication, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also as a team member
  • Proficient with computer skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Hearing, speaking and visual acuity
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Hand/wrist movement to write, use computer, phone and copier
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Summary of Position Description:

Assist health care provider in a manner to assure quality and professional medical care to our patients.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Prepare patient for exam; take vital signs
  • Obtain urine sample and accurately perform urine dip;
  • Perform massage on coolsculpting patients;
  • Update the problem list; record exam information and lab results in the patient record;
  • Set up and assist the provider with procedures; obtain consent form signatures;
  • Assist in patient education by use of handouts;
  • Maintain and supply exam rooms;
  • Prepare next day charts;
  • Call patients for postpartum follow-up
  • Attain adequate computer skills in the practice management computer system
  • Maintain patient recalls in the practice management computer system
  • Mail pap smear report cards as appropriate
  • Work compatibly with all other departments and employees of WSNM
  • Complete Competency Testing (BP, Gestational Dating, Injections, Clean Catch UA, Pregnancy Testing)
  • Administer Injections
  • Review laboratory results in charts

Additional Assignments:

  • In order to ensure maximum flexibility and efficiency, WSNM promotes and encourages cross training;
  • Employees may be assigned additional duties as necessary or desirable by management.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED;
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, certification preferred, or a minimum of one to two years experience as a medical assistant;
  • Possess good communication and excellent customer services skills.

  • Ability to walk, stoop, stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.;
