Based on preference, our patients may visit a physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant for routine gynecological exams and general issues, such as vaginitis, contraception, abnormal bleeding, urinary tract infections, and screening for sexually transmitted diseases. Our physicians will often work more closely with complex issues involving medications or surgical interventions. However, the beauty of our practice is the ability to migrate between a physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant based on your individual needs.
Birth Control
At your annual exam, you may want to have a conversation about birth control with your provider. Or, if you’re not due for your annual exam, you may want to make a separate appointment just for this purpose.
There are several well-established birth control methods that are safe and effective including newer, longer acting devices. Which method to choose depends on your lifestyle, your life stage with regard to family planning, your menstrual cycle, and other considerations. Your provider will help you decide which method suits you best.
